Position Title: Forklift Operator

Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Location: Bolling JBA Commissary, 185 Chappie James Boulevard, Washington, DC 20032
Reports To: Warehouse Specialist / Material Handler Lead

Position Summary:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating government-furnished or contractor-owned powered industrial trucks to safely move, stage, and organize palletized merchandise within the RSHA and designated receiving areas.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Valid forklift certification (OSHA-compliant).

  • 1+ year of experience operating forklifts or MHE.

  • Must understand forklift safety and maintenance procedures.

  • Ability to work in refrigerated or freezer storage environments.

  • Must pass a base access background screening.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks to unload, transport, and store goods.

  • Adhere to designated driving lanes and lifting protocols within RSHA.

  • Maintain forklift logs and report any maintenance issues.

  • Assist with physical placement of items in temperature-controlled zones.

  • Secure and safely stack merchandise in designated staging areas.

  • Follow safety and emission control requirements for MHE operations.

  • Remove fuel tanks for propane-powered units after shifts as required.
