Islamic Religious Coordinator
Position Title: Islamic Religious Coordinator.
Job Type: Part-time.
Location: Ramstein Air Base, Germany
Requirements: The Candidate shall have:
Familiarity with general Islamic doctrine, teachings, rites, and worship practices within the Sunni Islamic tradition.
Formal training as an Islamic Sunni Religious Education Coordinator with a minimum of one (1) year of experience at a mosque or Islamic school.
The ability to read, recite, and teach Arabic; the ability to recite the Qur’an, with memorization of at least one-thirtieth (1/30th) of the Qur’an preferred.
Status as a Sunni Muslim male, in accordance with religious and community requirements.
Demonstrated program management skills, including proficiency with Windows-based computer systems and Microsoft Office Professional applications.
The ability to plan, develop, coordinate, and implement a comprehensive Islamic Religious Education program in support of the Wing Chaplain.
The ability to work harmoniously with volunteers, faith leaders, and chapel staff while maintaining professional relationships.
Effective oral and written communication skills to clearly convey program goals and requirements to chapel staff, volunteers, and participants.
A working knowledge of administrative computer systems sufficient to perform all required reporting and tracking functions.
A foundational understanding of budgeting principles, including planning, development, execution, and tracking of funds.
A valid letter of ecclesiastical endorsement from a Department of Defense–recognized endorsing agency.
Endorsement from one of the following approved agencies:
Islamic Society of North America (ISNA)
American Muslim Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs Council (AMAFVAC)
Duties: The Candidate must:
Develop, implement, and maintain the Islamic Religious Education (RE) Program in support of the Ramstein Air Base Islamic community.
Serve as coordinator, teacher, facilitator, and organizer for all Islamic RE programs and activities.
Perform required administrative functions in close coordination with the Chaplain, including scheduling, budgeting, publicity, and program planning.
Ensure all facility requests for RE programs are properly completed and submitted in a timely manner to Chaplain Corps staff.
Coordinate and execute effective advertising and communication for Islamic RE programs and events.
Attend all requested meetings and provide updates on program activities, events, attendance, and budget execution.
Assist the Chaplain, as appropriate, in developing the annual calendar of events, Chapel Tithes and Offerings Fund (CTOF) budget, Appropriated Fund (APF) budget, and volunteer training requirements.
Submit an annual Islamic RE calendar and budget to the Chaplain for review and approval.
Execute and electronically track all approved budgets in accordance with Chapel Corps policies.
Recruit, train, supervise, and manage volunteers supporting the Islamic RE Program.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies regarding the use of copyrighted materials.
Ensure all designated facilities are opened, properly equipped, and prepared prior to the start of RE programs and events.
Maintain adequate supplies, inventories, RE materials, and equipment required to support program execution.
Coordinate and facilitate Ramadan-related Religious Education programs and events, including Eid observances as required.
Record and maintain attendance data for all Islamic RE programs and events.
Maintain a continuity file for the Islamic RE Program and submit electronic after-action reports to the Chaplain within five (5) calendar days following non-weekly events.
Establish and maintain an active social media presence to support awareness of Islamic services and RE activities.
Lead Islamic prayer services occurring during RE events in the absence of a Muslim Chaplain or authorized Lay Leader.
