Duties:
  • Prepare and deliver breakfast, lunch, dinner, and evening snacks according to USDA and DC Department of Health guidelines.
  • Ensure meals meet nutritional standards, including specific dietary needs such as Heart Healthy, Therapeutic, and Special diets.
  • Maintain food supplies, materials, and equipment required for meal preparation and delivery.
  • Develop and submit cycle menus for heart-healthy, Therapeutic, and Special diets on a quarterly basis.
  • Ensure menus are approved by a registered dietitian and comply with all nutritional requirements.
  • Provide a nutritional analysis of meals and submit any menu changes for approval.
  • Store perishable food items at proper temperatures to prevent spoilage and contamination.
  • Maintain adequate inventory and implement stock rotation procedures.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain records of dietary orders, menu substitutions, and inventory.
  • Develop and implement an emergency plan to ensure continuity of food services during unforeseen circumstances.
  • Ensure all staff involved in food preparation, delivery, and handling meet health and safety regulations.
  • Provide ongoing training for staff in food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
Requirements:
  • Experience in food service management, preferably in a similar setting.
  • Knowledge of USDA and DC Department of Health guidelines for meal preparation.
  • Ability to develop and implement cycle menus and nutritional analyses.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
