Job Title: Protestant Worship Music Director

Job Type: Part-Time

Location: Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ

Duties:

• Direct all worship music accompaniment and choir direction at Protestant services as instructed by the Protestant Service Chaplain.
• Select and prepare music for weekly services and special events in coordination with the Protestant Service Chaplain.
• Recruit, train, and manage choir members, ensuring they are prepared for performances.
• Conduct weekly rehearsals and additional rehearsals for special events.
• Monitor and maintain chapel musical instruments and ensure the proper use and storage of musical equipment.
• Coordinate music selections with the service musician and ensure compliance with safety and security requirements.
• Provide choir support for military and civilian community events as directed.
• Participate actively in the Protestant community at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

Requirements:

• Minimum of three years of experience leading a choir and providing musical accompaniment for Protestant worship services.
• Familiarity with Protestant faith tenets as practiced within the Protestant tradition.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a choir within a pluralistic environment.
• A college degree in music is highly desired.
• Ability to demonstrate rhythmic accuracy, music sensitivity, and proficiency in reading music.
