Position: Mid-Level Medical Assistant

Location: Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS), 366 Otis Street, Rome, New York 13441-4812

Overview: The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing comprehensive medical support at the Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS) and the NORAD Aerospace Warning and Control mission. The Mid-Level Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of personnel while adhering to established medical protocols and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide skilled medical assistance to support the medical needs of personnel at EADS and the NORAD Aerospace Warning and Control mission.
  • Conduct routine medical assessments, examinations, and treatments for individuals as required.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations according to established protocols.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate medical records and documentation, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and security protocols.
  • Collaborate with the medical team to establish and maintain an efficient medical care workflow.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate care in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Maintain medical equipment and supplies, ensuring availability and readiness for medical procedures.
  • Support health and wellness initiatives by offering guidance on preventive care, healthy lifestyle practices, and injury prevention.
  • Participate in training and educational programs to enhance medical skills and stay updated on medical advancements.
  • Adhere to all quality control measures and guidelines to ensure the delivery of high-quality medical services.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical or medical facility setting.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team environment.
  • Demonstrated capability to remain composed and make effective decisions in high-stress situations.
  • Understanding of medical ethics, patient confidentiality, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
