  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • No work required on designated French public holidays.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cook to provide daily meal preparation services for approximately 14 U.S. Marines residing at the Marine Security Guard Residence (MSGR). The selected candidate will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals, maintain the highest standards of food safety and kitchen sanitation, and develop rotating menus that accommodate dietary requirements while ensuring variety and balanced nutrition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner five days per week for approximately 14 personnel.
  • Prepare breakfast to order during designated breakfast hours.
  • Portion and package lunch and dinner meals in individual containers provided by the Government.
  • Develop and maintain a 20-day rotating menu for approval.
  • Prepare balanced meals using fresh ingredients while accommodating dietary restrictions, allergies, and religious requirements when needed.
  • Submit ingredient requirements in advance to support food purchasing.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized kitchen, including cleaning all equipment, utensils, and work areas after meal preparation.
  • Follow all applicable food hygiene, sanitation, and food safety regulations.
  • Label prepared meals with preparation and expiration dates.
  • Communicate effectively in English with Government personnel and follow all workplace security procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • CAP Cuisine, Culinary Diploma, or an equivalent professional culinary qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional cooking experience in a commercial kitchen, institutional kitchen, military facility, hotel, restaurant, or similar environment.
  • Experience planning menus and preparing balanced meals.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining high quality and consistency.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Ability to successfully pass required background and security screening before beginning work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience preparing meals for military, government, institutional, or large residential facilities.
  • Knowledge of American, European, and international cuisine.
  • Experience accommodating special dietary requirements and food allergies.
  • Familiarity with HACCP principles and commercial kitchen operations.
