Licensed Vocational Nurse

Requirement:

• Basic knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Completion of an accredited vocational nursing program.
• Must be licensed in California, CPR certified.
• Proficiency in basic nursing care.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to provide compassionate care.
• Ability to handle physical demands.
• Adherence to ethical standards.

Duties:

• Monitor and chart notes on subjects' health problems using a narrative format.
• Dispense medications and/or dietary supplements and take verbal/telephone orders from the physician.
• Perform routine blood and urine sample processing. Administer qualitative tests on subjects' daily urine samples.
• Provide basic clinical care for research subjects.
• Monitor health, dispense medications, and chart data.
• Responsible for changing dressings, monitoring vital signs and administering medicines.
• Operating medical equipment with accuracy.
• Shall administer medications to patients as prescribed by a physician or other healthcare provider.
• Ensure that medical equipment and supplies are properly maintained and in good working order.
