Position Title: Custodial Worker

Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Location: Bolling JBA Commissary, 185 Chappie James Boulevard, Washington, DC 20032
Reports To: Custodial Lead

Position Summary:

The Custodial Worker performs daily and nightly cleaning services throughout the commissary facility, including the sales floor, restrooms, offices, breakrooms, RSHA, and food preparation areas. This role ensures all sanitation standards are met in accordance with the PWS, OSHA, FDA/USDA regulations, and installation requirements.

Qualifications: The Candidate shall have:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous custodial or janitorial experience, ideally in a food retail or industrial facility.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. and standing/walking for long periods.
Familiarity with safe handling of cleaning chemicals (SDS knowledge preferred).
Must pass background screening and obtain base access.

Duties and Responsibilities: The candidate must:

Perform routine and deep cleaning of restrooms, breakrooms, and offices.
Sweep, mop, strip, buff, and wax sales floor and RSHA floors as scheduled.
Sanitize meat preparation, produce, and other food-handling areas daily.
Empty trash receptacles, replace liners, and transport waste to designated areas.
Operate custodial equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuums.
Report spills, safety hazards, or pest issues immediately to supervisor.
Follow PPE requirements and all OSHA/EPA safety guidelines.
Ensure cleaning tasks meet Government quality standards and inspection requirements.
