Group Fitness Instructor

Job title: Group Fitness Instructor

Location: Misawa AB, Japan

Hours: 15 Hours a week.

Duties :

• Shall provide safe and effective instruction in various cardiovascular activities consistent with industry practices. Instruction shall include, but is not limited to, Step Aerobics, Kick Boxing, Zumba, Circuit Training, Sports Conditioning, Body Sculpting, Jazzercise, Hip Hop Dance, Hi/Low Aerobics, High Fitness, Boot Camp, High Intensity (HIIT), Yoga and/or Pilates, and Indoor Cycling.
• Instructors shall ensure class participants sign an attendance roster/sign-up sheet provided by instructor, to document attendance statistics.
• Instructors shall provide attendance roster to the Fitness Center from desk staff at the end of each class.
• Instructors shall also provide class participants with Government-provided Customer Satisfaction Survey cards.

Qualifications :

• Group fitness instructors must have and maintain a primary instructor certification
• Instructors must obtain the additionally necessary specialized training and certification for specialized classes such as step and kickboxing fitness.
• All instructors must maintain current First Aid certification, and either American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support/Automated External Defibrillator (BLS/AED) or Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation External Defibrillator (CPR/AED) certification.

Education/ Licensure :

• Master's in Physical Therapy
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Possess and maintain an active, current, valid and unrestricted license from a U.S. jurisdiction (1 of 50 states), the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands and applicable Board Certification as a licensed Physical Therapist (PT).
