Worship Leader

Job Title: Contemporary Christian Service Worship Leader

Location: Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan

Duties:

• Lead worship for the Contemporary Christian Service for at least forty five (45) group rehearsals/practices per year.
• Lead worship for the Contemporary Christian Service for at least forty five (45) Sundays per year.
• For the remaining seven (7) Sundays per year, the Worship Leader will coordinate an alternative worship leader or develop a digital worship program for the regular services that matches the normal worship style of the Contemporary Christian worship service.
• Lead worship for no more than five (5) rehearsals for special services per year.
• Lead worship for no more than five (5) special services.
• Lead music ministry for MCASI chapel VBS each summer, typically in August.
• Lead worship for all planned musical selections in a professional and proficient manner as required.
• Be present 30 minutes prior to the start of all services, remain in the Chapel for the duration of the service and notify the Chaplain prior to departure once the service has concluded.

Education & Qualifications:

• Demonstrates knowledge and ability to lead a variety of worship music styles with an emphasis on Contemporary Christian worship music including music for holiday services.
• Proficient vocalist that can provide lead vocals for worship.
• Demonstrates past experience leading worship in a church or chapel setting.
• Be able to speak conversational English.
• Willing to be or already active in the Contemporary Christian Service MCASI Chapel community.
