Duties:
Provide instruction in Cosmetology as set forth in Lesson Plans and Curriculum created by accrediting school.
Provide instruction consistent with course requirements provided by accrediting school.
Enhance course instruction with Live Work and On-The-Job training to meet accrediting school’s expectations.
Examination and evaluation of students to determine mastery of course work.
PROGRAM/CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT:
The candidate will train students in Cosmetology with skills to include:
- Every student will be on a program plan to complete a course study consisting of the minimum state requirements
- The candidate will provide training program that consists of twenty percent (20%) classroom training and eighty percent (80%) live work. (The live work will be performed by students being directly supervised in the completion of the live work on students and/or inmates at the institution using the most up-to-date equipment, to plan work/activity schedules, for understanding this career field.)
- A course outline which provides job entry skills is required. This course description/outline will provide entry and completion requirements for vocational training

Be able to often work independently, but within a regimented group
Education/Experience:
The candidate shall possess a vocational certification in cosmetology from an accredited college or university
Experience in instruction in cosmetology field and be certified by the Texas department of license and regulation as a Cosmetology Instructor and maintain a valid license.
