Protestant Music Director

Job Title:  Protestant Music Director

Location:  Osan AB Chapel

Duties:

• Be present one hour prior each Sunday in order to direct and lead the Protestant worship team and to directly lead worship when there are no volunteer musicians or worship leaders. Be present to all performances 30 minutes prior.
• The Applicant will be responsible for selecting the music and coordinating the worship song set. The Applicant will select music 2 weeks in advance of the weekly worship service and communicate the worship music plan with the Senior Protestant Chaplain.
• Work with the Protestant chaplains and the Protestant Parish Coordinator in preparing the weekly order of service.
• Be responsible for and conduct regular rehearsal sessions for the worship team and choir members on a weekly basis. Set dates and times for weekly rehearsals one month in advance.
• Prepare the worship song set and load the worship song set/order into the multi-media worship program.
• The Applicant shall provide his/her own transportation.

Qualifications:

• Have experience as a Protestant Religious Education Coordinator or as a Director of Christian Education in a local Church
• Must have experience working with Protestant Children’s programs including Religious Education (RE)
• Must have experience with recruiting and training teachers and other volunteers
• Understand basic budgeting process and procedures
• one year experience in an administrative office environment
• English will be the primary language that the contractor shall present all contracted services.
• Ability to function as a team member in a pluralistic environment working with chaplains, staff, contractors, and volunteers from a variety of Protestant Christian backgrounds.
• Must have superior organization and planning skills.

 Operating Hours:

• The Applicant will direct worship every Sunday from approximately 10:00-11:00 for a total of 3 hours per week not to exceed 1 hour per session for rehearsals scheduled at the convenience of the contractor.
• The work under this contract shall be performed at worship/practice space assigned by Osan Air Base Chapel and other buildings designated as a place of worship i.e. Base theatre, Osan High School Auditorium, Osan Elementary School or any other building located on Osan Air Base.
