Job Overview :
The Legal Advocacy Training Program Contractor will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive Legal Advocacy Training Program to support the mission of the Office of the Solicitor (SOL) within the Department of Labor. This program will encompass a wide range of legal training, products, and related services aimed at enhancing trial advocacy skills, advocacy techniques, writing skills, negotiations, and other critical aspects of litigation. The Contractor will facilitate the development and delivery of training sessions and resources to various offices and locations within SOL, contributing to the advancement of legal excellence across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Office of the Solicitor to design and implement a Legal Advocacy Training Program that aligns with SOL's mission and responsibilities.
- Develop a comprehensive curriculum that covers trial advocacy, pre-trial work, appeals, negotiations, writing skills, and other relevant topics.
- Create a mock case file to be utilized across all training sessions, modifying it as necessary to suit specific training requirements.
- Deliver engaging and informative training sessions to SOL personnel, providing practical insights and techniques to enhance their legal advocacy skills.
- Adapt training formats to meet the needs of different offices and locations, including in-person sessions and virtual training via platforms such as VTC/Webex/Teams/Zoom.
- Provide training materials, resources, and equipment/materials required for successful program delivery.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active and valid law license.
- A minimum of 2 years of legal practice experience, with a focus on trial advocacy and litigation.
- Strong expertise in legal writing, negotiations, and other relevant advocacy skills.
- Familiarity with virtual training platforms (VTC/Webex/Teams/Zoom) is a plus.
