Duties:

  • Prepare, cook, and present meals according to the menu and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure food is prepared to the required standards of quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Assist in setting up and replenishing the food serving line before and during meal service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper sanitation of the cooking areas, including utensils, equipment, and surfaces.
  • Follow food safety protocols, including proper handling and storage of food.
  • Assist with inventory control by monitoring food supplies and reporting shortages.
  • Adhere to portion control guidelines and ensure that all meals meet the dietary specifications.
  • Support the dining facility team by ensuring a smooth workflow and assisting with meal preparation during peak periods.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in food service or as a cook is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
