Location: Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Jacksonville, Florida Worksite: on-site Position: Part-Time Duties/Requirements: The Roman Catholic PriestShall:
Be available during and after normal working hours, on weekends and holidays. Emergency ministries, those outside of normal working hours.
Provide spiritual care for active-duty military personnel, families, eligible civilian employees, and other beneficiaries.
Provide Roman Catholic pastoral care during transition-in and transition-out periods.
Be a validly ordained Roman Catholic priest in good standing with his diocese or religious order and maintain certification for the entire contract period.
Have ecclesiastical endorsement, in writing, from their diocese or religious order and be recognized by the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA.
Have at least one (1) unit of Clinical Pastoral Education or its equivalency.
Ability to serve on an ecumenical ministry team.
Perform, within the parameters of his ordination and the tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
Based upon the responsibilities outlined, the Roman Catholic Priest shall be present for a total of 76 events or units:
52 Weekly Masses
8 Special Occasion Masses
16 Emergency ministrations (anointing, baptism, communion, and confession)
services may include Roman Catholic pastoral care to patients and staff as determined.
