The Pianist shall be completed at least two (2) years studies/formal training as an Undergraduate Piano Performance Major
The Pianist shall have at least two (2) years of experience as a church or chapel musician in pianist service within the last five (5) years.
The Pianist shall be able to sight read musical notes of hymns/music in the Armed Forces Hymnal and Hymnal utilized by assigned chapel and lead four (4) part harmony.
The Pianist shall be able to communicate in English.
Duties:
The pianist shall provide musical accompaniment on the piano during the weekly worship services to include preludes, postludes, offertories, congregational hymns, and other music as selected during the worship hour; music performed by the choir, and soloists as coordinated by the choir director to include “warm-ups” of fifteen minutes or less prior to the service.
The pianist shall provide appropriate musical accompaniment for special/seasonal events. Special events include, but are not limited to, memorial services/ceremony, funeral services, 911 remembrance ceremony, revivals, or special/seasonal services and sacramental events (not weddings).
