Janitor

Position Title: Custodian
Location: Pine Bluff Arsenal, Pine Bluff, Arkansas
Employment Type: Full-Time

Objective: seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to provide custodial and sanitation services at Pine Bluff Arsenal (PBA). The Custodian will perform cleaning and maintenance duties in administrative, industrial, warehouse, and specialized facilities in accordance with contract requirements, safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality control procedures. The successful candidate will support a clean, safe, and professional working environment while ensuring compliance with all federal installation requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Custodian shall perform a variety of custodial and janitorial duties, including but not limited to:

• Clean and sanitize offices, hallways, restrooms, breakrooms, warehouses, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, strip, wax, and buff floors.
• Shampoo carpets and maintain carpeted areas.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with environmental and recycling procedures.
• Dust and wipe furniture, fixtures, walls, windows, blinds, and equipment surfaces.
• Restock restroom and hygiene supplies.
• Maintain cleaning equipment in safe operating condition.
• Follow all approved cleaning schedules and performance standards.
• Report damaged property, unsafe conditions, spills, or maintenance concerns to supervisors immediately.
• Perform emergency cleaning services as directed.
• Support periodic deep-cleaning operations and special projects.
• Ensure all assigned work areas remain secure after completion of services.
• Maintain professional conduct and appearance while on Government installations.
• Comply with all safety, environmental, and security regulations applicable to Pine Bluff Arsenal operations.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English effectively.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Requirements

The Custodian position requires the ability to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach frequently.
• Work in varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.
• Operate custodial equipment and machinery safely.
• Perform duties in hot, cold, humid, dusty, or industrial environments.
• Must comply with all Pine Bluff Arsenal access and security procedures.
• Must adhere to key control and facility access procedures.
• May be subject to background investigations and security vetting requirements.
