Position Type Full-Time / Part-Time Contract Position
Contract Overview The Physical Therapist shall provide professional physical therapy services in support of students attending St. Stephens Indian School under the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) contract requirement. Services shall be performed in accordance with applicable Federal regulations, school policies, and contract requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Physical Therapist shall:
Perform physical therapy evaluations and assessments for students with physical, developmental, neurological, or mobility-related conditions.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and educational needs.
Provide direct physical therapy treatment services to eligible students.
Monitor student progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
Maintain accurate treatment records, evaluations, progress notes, and related documentation.
Coordinate with school personnel, parents, educational staff, and other healthcare providers regarding student treatment plans and progress.
Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and provide professional recommendations regarding student physical therapy needs.
Ensure services comply with all applicable Federal, State, BIE, and school regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of student information and comply with Privacy Act and FERPA requirements.
Submit required reports, attendance documentation, and service records to designated Government representatives.
Follow all school safety, security, and infection-control requirements while onsite.
Maintain professional conduct and appropriate interaction with students, faculty, staff, and parents.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates shall possess:
Doctorate or Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
Current unrestricted Physical Therapist license in the applicable State.
Current CPR certification.
Experience providing pediatric or school-based physical therapy services preferred.
Ability to work effectively with children, school staff, and multidisciplinary teams.
