Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on biomedical equipment, including safety inspections, preventive maintenance, calibrations, and parts replacement.
Inspect, test, and troubleshoot malfunctioning medical equipment using technical manuals, schematics, and testing instruments.
Disassemble equipment to repair or replace defective parts such as motors, transformers, and circuit boards.
Conduct technical evaluations for new equipment purchases and determine disposition for excess or outdated equipment.
Provide operator training to medical staff on the proper use and preventive maintenance of biomedical equipment.
Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities in the electronic system of record.
Ensure compliance with all safety standards, including electrical and mechanical hazard prevention protocols.
Support administrative duties, including inventory management, equipment performance documentation, and compliance audits.
Requirements:
Associate degree in biomedical equipment technology or engineering OR a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician.
Proficiency in troubleshooting complex medical systems and interpreting technical data such as blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
Knowledge of DoD, TJC, and applicable industry standards for medical equipment maintenance and safety.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work in varied environments, including confined or contaminated spaces.
Strong computer skills for data entry, documentation, and technical record management.
Demonstrated ability to follow safety protocols, including radiation and electrical safety measures.
Fluent in English with the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
