Location: Ron Mazzoli Federal Building, Louisville, KY
The Occupational Health Nurse provides clinical occupational health services to Government employees of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Louisville District. Services are performed under the technical direction of the Government nurse within the Occupational Health Unit and include employee injury care, medical surveillance, wellness services, and health education in accordance with federal guidelines and medical protocols.
Triage and provide care for employee injuries and illnesses following established medical protocols
Conduct medical surveillance, wellness screenings, and health assessments
Administer vaccinations, allergy injections, and approved medications
Perform diagnostic testing (EKG, vision, hearing, glucose testing, phlebotomy, urine testing, etc.)
Provide first aid and CPR in emergency situations
Counsel employees on preventive health, wellness, and occupational safety
Maintain accurate, confidential employee medical records in compliance with federal requirements
Document encounters, maintain daily activity logs, and support medical reporting
Coordinate care with physicians and the Government nurse
Provide health education, training, and wellness consultations
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current, active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky
Minimum five (5) years of RN experience in Emergency Room, Urgent Care, Critical Care, or Ambulatory Care
Minimum two (2) years of experience in an Occupational Health Clinic
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
