Location: U.S. Coast Guard Training Center (TRACEN) Yorktown Chapel, Yorktown, VA 23690
Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship required.
Ordination as a Roman Catholic Priest and in good standing with the Catholic Church.
A minimum of five years of pastoral experience.
Fluency in English, capable of delivering sermons and conducting counseling.
Must obtain and maintain Ecclesiastical Endorsement from the Military Archdiocese.
Ability to adjust to schedule changes and meet emergency pastoral care needs on short notice.
Duties:
Conduct Mass and Confessions every Sunday and on Holy Days of Obligation as scheduled, including Christmas, Easter, and other significant liturgical dates.
Prepare and deliver homilies and sermons that engage a diverse military congregation.
Provide pastoral care and counseling to military personnel and their families.
Administer sacraments such as baptisms, confirmations, weddings, and funerals as requested with prior approval.
Ensure religious services are conducted according to the liturgical norms and guidelines of the Catholic Church.
Coordinate with the Command Chaplain for any absences or substitute coverage needs.
Participate in religious and community events as directed by the Command Chaplain.
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions and counseling sessions.
Ensure compliance with all base access, security protocols, and government regulations.
