Worship Leader

Location: Yokota Air Base, Japan

Position: Part-time

Duties:

• Serve as the primary musician for the Traditional worship service.
• Provide piano or organ accompaniment during worship services, including prelude/postlude, call to worship, special music selections, and benediction response as per the worship requirements and expectations of the chaplain.
• Coordinate for special services and be ready for rehearsals and services with appropriate prelude music.
• Setup and take down necessary items for rehearsals and worship services, ensuring all areas are neat and orderly.
• Organize volunteers to assist with the music programs.

Requirements:

• Possess a Bachelor of Arts in music or 2 years of experience and 3 years of playing in religious worship services.
• Proficiency in playing both the piano and organ.
• Demonstrate competence and capability to perform required services, including sight-reading and playing music.
• Ability to provide a wide range of church music, including traditional, liturgical, and contemporary.
• Ability to communicate fully in English.
