Job Title: Music Director/Accompanist Job Type: Part-time Schedule: 0900 Sunday Catholic Mass, the 1300 Sunday Catholic Mass, 1700 Catholic Mass, rehearsals, and special services. Requirements:
Should have 2 or more years of college in music (or related field), or equivalent years related experience in a chapel/church setting.
Should have keyboarding and/or organ experience OR be able to secure a volunteer accompanist or subcontract this service.
Be able to sing and vocally lead the congregation in choral music in keeping with the liturgical norms of the Roman Catholic Church OR be able to secure a volunteer accompanist or subcontract this service.
Duties:
Shall provide labor and management to support three Catholic Masses on Sunday. This support includes but is not limited to: playing (piano OR organ), training, scheduling, cantoring, and processing music for liturgies within the Catholic Mass in collaboration with the Senior Ranking Catholic Chaplain.
Play piano and/or organ and accompany the three Catholic Masses, on Sundays, special Holidays and Feasts, and at other services as needed, to include memorial services, funeral services, combined services, Holy Days, etc.
Attend and accompany/direct one weekly rehearsal. A rehearsal constitutes a minimum of one-hour practice with choir members.
Select all vocal music and conform to the liturgical norms of the Roman Catholic Church and the directive of the Ranking Catholic Chaplain. The MDA will select music for preludes, interludes, and postludes.
