Medical Transcriptionist

Schedule:

Services will be provided according to Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service coverage requirements and established laboratory work schedules.

Summary:

The Medical Transcriptionist will provide transcription support within a Pathology/Laboratory setting using oral dictation and voice-recognition software.

Requirements:

• Appropriate experience working in a Pathology/Laboratory environment or equivalent medical transcription experience.
• Experience transcribing medical information from oral dictation.
• Ability to use voice-recognition software for medical transcription.
• Ability to accurately prepare and maintain medical transcription documentation.

Duties:

• Transcribe pathology and laboratory documentation from oral dictation.
• Review and process documentation generated through voice-recognition software.
• Prepare accurate transcription records for assigned laboratory services.
• Maintain and organize transcription documentation according to laboratory procedures.
