The candidate shall have, at minimum:
Three (3) years of professional experience managing or performing food service operations in high-quality dining, hospitality, or institutional kitchen environments.
Demonstrated ability in menu planning, meal preparation, and food presentation in line with U.S. standards and dietary guidelines.
Knowledge of food safety regulations (FDA Food Code, USDA standards, and HACCP procedures).
Experience maintaining kitchen cleanliness and sanitation according to ServSafe or equivalent standards.
English language proficiency sufficient to communicate effectively with U.S. Government personnel.
Strong organizational skills to manage meal scheduling, inventory control, and food storage.
Ability to obtain and maintain required local permits and clearances for food handling and employment within Greece.
Must be physically capable, medically cleared for food handling, and free from communicable diseases.
Must adhere to U.S. Embassy standards of professional conduct, appearance, and confidentiality.
The candidate must:
Prepare and serve three daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) for seven (7) U.S. Marine Security Guards, including packed or pre-stored meals for Sundays.
Plan, coordinate, and execute a 20-day rotating menu approved by the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and the Mess NCO, ensuring variety, nutrition, and taste.
Accommodate dietary, cultural, and religious requirements, offering balanced and healthy options in compliance with U.S. dietary guidelines.
Source, receive, and store food items in accordance with USDA and HACCP standards, maintaining proper labeling, rotation (FIFO), and temperature control.
Maintain strict kitchen hygiene and cleanliness, including cleaning all equipment, utensils, and dining areas after each meal service.
Follow health, sanitation, and safety protocols, using proper protective equipment (aprons, non-slip shoes, potholders, etc.).
Conduct daily kitchen inspections and report equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
Maintain a Food Service Management System to track menus, inventory, and waste reduction metrics.
Support waste minimization and sustainability practices, including recycling and proper disposal of food waste.
Ensure excellent customer service and professional interaction with all residents and U.S. Government personnel.
Comply with Embassy security, key control, and conduct requirements, maintaining discipline and professionalism at all times.
