Background: VA Connecticut Healthcare System West Haven and Newington Campuses require complete Survey, Inspection and Testing of Fire and Smoke Dampers.
Job Title: Fire Protection Technician.
Location: VAMC West Haven 950 Campbell Ave West Haven CT.
Schedule: Monday through Saturday outside of regular business hours after 5:00 p.m. and before 6:00 a.m.

Qualifications:
- Replace missing access handles for the doors for the fire and smoke dampers.
- Training in the installation, maintenance, and testing of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and fire suppression systems.
- Remove and reset fusible links to verify that each damper fully closes, and if necessary, replace any fusible link that is compromised.
- remove debris and lubricate all moving parts on each damper.
- replace or repair damaged or oxidized springs.
- Replace missing access handles for the doors for the fire and smoke dampers.
