Location: Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center, Memphis, TN 38104.
Position: Full-time
Duties:
- Evaluate and manage a variety of medical conditions.
- Perform emergency procedures such as local anesthesia, laceration repair, and intubation.
- Stabilize patients and coordinate transfers for higher-level care.
- Be present on time for scheduled shifts.
- Review and confirm inpatient admissions.
- Provide consultations and referrals.
- Initiate social work referrals for homeless veterans and patients without primary care providers.
- Provide discharge education and follow-up instructions.
Requirements:
- Board Certification/Board Eligibility in Emergency Medicine through ABEM, ACEP, or AOBEM .
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association or equivalency .
- Compliance with all HIPAA regulations .
- Registration with the National Provider Identifier (NPI) system .
- Proof of current DEA certification .
- Adequate training and competence to perform assigned duties .
