Catholic Musician

Location: Scott Air Force Base, Illinois

Position: Part-time

Duties:

• Provide instrumental accompaniment for all Catholic Masses, including Sunday services, Holy Days, and special services like penance and memorials.
• Support the Catholic Music Coordinator in planning the music for the year, including special liturgical events.
• Assist in maintaining and organizing all sheet music, hymnals, and instruments.
• Flexibly arrange and compose music to match the choir’s capabilities.

Requirements:

• Fluency in playing at least one musical instrument, preferably the piano, with the ability to play solos, congregational pieces, and accompaniments for Catholic Masses and services.
• Three years of experience as a Catholic musician or equivalent ability to demonstrate musical fluency in Catholic liturgical music.
• Understanding of Catholic liturgical practices post-Vatican II, including knowledge of the Catholic liturgical calendar and seasons.
• Must be a practicing Roman Catholic, confirmed, and in good standing with the Church.
