Catholic Music Director

Job Title: Catholic Music Director
Job Type: Part-Time 
Location: Naval Base Guam Chapel, Santa Rita, Guam

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of experience leading music in a worship service or chapel setting.
• Bachelor's degree in Music, Choral Arts, or equivalent formal training.
• Proficiency in leading vocalists and instrumentalists, including choirs and praise teams.
• Ability to play and direct various instruments, including keyboards, guitars, and percussion.
• Experience coordinating musical programs for religious services.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with diverse congregations and volunteers.
• Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be of Christian faith and actively involved in worship and devotion.

Duties:

Worship Services:

• Provide musical leadership and accompaniment for Sunday worship services, including hymns, preludes, offertories, and postludes.
• Direct and coordinate choirs, vocalists, and musicians during divine services.
• Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to each service to prepare instruments, conduct sound checks, and ensure readiness.

Rehearsals:

• Lead weekly rehearsals with choirs, praise teams, and instrumentalists to prepare for services.
• Teach vocal parts, harmonies, and instrumental arrangements to team members.
• Ensure rehearsals are organized and align with the worship program.

Special Services:

• Provide music for up to 12 special services annually, such as holiday services, memorials, and ceremonies.
• Schedule and conduct additional rehearsals for special services with at least 24 hours' notice.
