Job Title: Gospel Worship Music Director
Job Type: Part-Time
Location: Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ

Qualifications:

• Ability to read or sight-read music and lead choral and congregational singing.
• Capability to collaborate with volunteers and the chaplain assigned to the Gospel worship service in rehearsal and performance.
• Understanding of Gospel music and its integral role in the celebration of Church rites.
• Balanced repertoire from traditional to contemporary Gospel music and a strong grounding in Gospel worship music and liturgical rubrics.

Duties:

• Select music for worship services and ensure compliance with copyright laws.
• Order and distribute sheet music or lyrics to choir members and replace music in files promptly.
• Provide a written list of music selections to the chaplain at least one month in advance for approval.
• Recruit, train, and rehearse choir members regularly.
• Meet regularly with the chaplain and Protestant Parish Coordinator for music program planning.
• Attend training on the sound system and maintain proficiency.
• Provide all musical worship from prelude to postlude, including Holy Days and special events.
• Conduct weekly 60-minute rehearsals separate from Sunday services.
• Perform up to 116 sessions annually, with payment based on units performed.
