Job Title: Combative Instructor
Location: 320 STS, Kadena AB, Okinawa, Japan
Duties:
- Instructors should be prepared to test and evaluate Special Tactics personnel in combative skills at the direction of the squadron commander and provide the commander a professional report on the combative readiness of the ST personnel in the unit. Instructors will be required to provide 1.5hr training sessions for a total of 147 sessions, for a total of 220.5 hours.
- All techniques must be taught and drilled with and without body armor.
- Gaining and maintaining dominant body position standing and, on the ground,
- Returning to standing position and creating space to employ weapons systems.
- Submission techniques—choke, break, pressure point, and joint manipulation
- Edged weapon offense/defense and disarmament.
- Weapon retention and disarmament (carbine/pistol)
- Closing the distance and setting up for a takedown/cuffing
- Takedown techniques
- Defense to common attacks (front/rear chokes, strikes, push)
- Basic and advanced striking techniques
- CQB scenarios with belligerent non-combattants & combattants
- Detainee control and cuffing.
Qualification:
- Instructor Staff must have experience in combative disciplines (Brazilian Jiu-jitsu (BJJ), Karate, and Mixed Martial Arts).
- The instructor must have at least a second degree Black Belt in both BJJ and Karate, or better and provide evidence of certification.
- At least10 years of experience teaching is required for BJJ and at least 5 years of experience is required in teaching Karate.
- The instructor must have experience in competing at the professional level in Mixed Martial Arts, BJJ, and Karate.
- The instructor must have at least 10 years of experience teaching US active duty military personnel.
- The instructor must be AF Combative Master instructor certified or in the process of obtaining the certification within 6 months of initiation of contract.
