Job Title: Injury Prevention Academic Advisor

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
  • Core work hours: 9 AM to 3 PM

Job Summary: The Injury Prevention Academic Advisor will coordinate and facilitate the IHS Injury and Violence Prevention Fellowship and assist with academic reviews and revisions for the Injury Prevention Program courses.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate and Facilitate Training:

    • Run the IHS Injury and Violence Prevention Fellowship.
    • Travel for fellowship and project support to specified locations.
    • Review and update fellowship curriculum.
  2. Consult and Assist:

    • Work with the IHS Injury Prevention Academic Review Committee.
    • Support the IHS Injury Prevention Program Manager.
    • Oversee Fellows’ progress during training.
  3. Plan and Organize Training:

    • Schedule fellowship activities and ensure deadlines are met.
    • Help Fellows complete their projects.
    • Prepare and update training materials.
  4. Administrative Tasks:

    • Create reports and presentations.
    • Help prepare Fellowship projects for publication.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of American Indian/Alaska Native culture and medicine.
  • Expertise in community injury prevention and public health.
  • Experience in teaching and curriculum development.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
