RRT – Polysomnography Certified
Schedule & Work Conditions
8-hour shifts (8:00am–4:30pm or 8:00pm–4:30am)
Weekdays and weekends as needed
Minimum Required Qualifications (MANDATORY)
Applicants must meet ALL of the following:
Licensure & Credentials
Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential (NBRC)
Active California Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License
One of the following sleep credentials:
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) – BRPT
Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) – AASM
Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) – NBRC
Current ACLS Certification
Current BLS Certification
Experience Requirements
Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience
Minimum 1 year Critical Care experience
Minimum 2 years Polysomnography (PSG) experience
Experience performing full-night polysomnograms and split-night studies
Core Responsibilities
Polysomnography Duties
Perform and monitor full-night polysomnography studies
Conduct split-night diagnostic/titration studies
Apply sleep staging using EEG, EOG, EMG per Rechtschaffen & Kales standards
Perform CPAP/BIPAP titration studies
Continuous recording of airflow, oximetry, ECG, EMG
Maintain technical sleep logs (manual and electronic)
Perform scoring and documentation
Respond appropriately to abnormal findings
Ensure patient safety throughout testing
Respiratory Therapy Duties
Manage mechanical ventilation (invasive & non-invasive)
Set up CPAP, APAP, and BiPAP devices
Respond to Rapid Response and Code Blue events
Provide airway management and ventilatory support
Perform ABG sampling and interpretation
Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies
Collaborate with Pulmonary and Critical Care teams
