Music Service Coordinator
Key Responsibilities
Worship Leadership
Lead one weekly Contemporary Protestant Praise and Worship Service (approximately one hour).
Arrive on-site at least 15 minutes prior to and remain 15 minutes after each service.
Lead the music portion of worship in a contemporary style appropriate for the congregation.
Rehearsal Direction
Conduct one weekly one-hour rehearsal session.
Coordinate rehearsal schedule and location with the DGR.
Direct and support volunteer musicians and vocalists.
Music Selection & Planning
Select weekly music in consultation with the DGR.
Provide a proposed music plan in PowerPoint format no later than close of business each Wednesday prior to Sunday service.
Plan and deliver music for special services including:
Thanksgiving Eve
Christmas Eve
Easter Sunrise
Other seasonal or designated religious services
Volunteer Coordination
Recruit, train, and develop vocalists and instrumentalists from the congregation.
Ensure praise band composition ideally includes guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, and singers.
Coordinate sound checks and logistical support.
Substitute Coverage
Provide a qualified substitute when unavailable.
Ensure substitute meets all contract performance requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated experience leading contemporary Protestant praise and worship music.
Proficiency in directing praise band rehearsals and services.
Experience recruiting and training volunteer musicians.
Strong musical ability (vocal and/or instrumental leadership).
Ability to work collaboratively with chaplaincy staff.
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien (with verified documentation per contract security requirements).
Ability to obtain and maintain base access credentials.
