Position Overview:
The Athletic Trainer will provide comprehensive injury prevention, physical preparedness services, and rehabilitation for Rescue Aviators at Aviano Air Base. The role focuses on reducing injury rates, enhancing physical performance, and ensuring rapid return to duty for injured personnel. The Athletic Trainer will work closely with unit leadership, medical staff, and individual aircrew members to optimize physical readiness, contribute to the overall mission, and support the unit’s operational needs.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 07:30-16:30 or 0830-1730 CET/CEST.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 07:30-16:30 or 0830-1730 CET/CEST.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat musculoskeletal injuries; provide evidence-based interventions and medical management to minimize injury rates and expedite recovery.
- Develop and implement individualized physical training programs aimed at optimizing physical performance standards as defined by AFMAN 10-35000V1 and relevant commercial best practices.
- Coordinate medical care for injured aircrew, including assistance with Tricare referrals and interactions with military medical treatment facilities (MTF).
- Master’s degree in athletic training or equivalent from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).
- A minimum of 4 years of experience working with elite athletes, preferably within the military, National Collegiate Athletic Association, or professional sports. Must have experience in manual therapy and Graston technique soft tissue mobilization.
- Current BOC certification and maintenance of continuing education requirements.
