Nurse Practitioner (NP) – On-Site Medical Services
Location: Columbia Basin Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center – Moses Lake, Washington
Schedule: Approximately 14.5 hours per week (728 hours annually)
Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner provides on-site primary healthcare services to Job Corps students ages 16–24. Responsibilities include medical assessments, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, prescribing medications, preventive care, and health education. The NP collaborates with the Health and Wellness Director and center staff to support student health and program success.
Key Responsibilities
Perform medical exams, assessments, and intake physicals for students.
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
Prescribe medications, including controlled substances as permitted by law.
Order and interpret laboratory tests, immunizations, and screenings.
Maintain accurate documentation in the Student Health Record (SHR).
Coordinate referrals and collaborate with center health and wellness staff.
Provide health education and preventive care counseling.
Participate in required meetings, program reviews, and quality improvement activities.
Minimum Qualifications
Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Washington State
DEA registration with prescribing authority
Medical liability insurance ($1M minimum coverage)
Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Current CPR/BLS certification
Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in primary care, family practice, or community health
Experience working with adolescents or young adults
