Supplemental Priest

Job Title:   Supplemental Priest

Location :  Ft. Irwin, CA 92310

Duties :

• The Candidate shall provide services for Clergy-Catholic- Priest.
• The Candidate shall be on location prior to scheduled services to ensure proper preparation for successful performance at least 30 minutes prior to the services being performed
• The Candidate shall conduct weekend masses on Saturdays/Sundays in accordance with the General Instruction of the Missal (GIRM) normally lasting one hour and including a homily, as scheduled by the USAG Fort Irwin RSO POC.

1. The weekly mass shall begin at 1200 on Wednesdays.
2. The weekly mass shall begin at 0900 on Sundays.
3. At a minimum, each weekend mass shall include the Liturgy of the Word and Liturgy of the Eucharist.

• The Candidate shall conduct mass on days of Obligation in accordance with the General Instruction of the Missal (GIRM) normally lasting one hour and including a homily, as scheduled by the USAG Fort Irwin RSO POC.

6. Good Friday
7. Easter Vigil

• Ascension of Jesus
• Penance
• Confession.
• Baptism.
• Confirmation.
• First Communion.
• Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
• Pastoral Care and Counseling
• Matrimony and Pre-matrimonial Counseling.
• Anointing of the Sick, Funerals, and Burials.
• Recording of Sacraments.

 Qualifications:

• The Candidate should have Computer skills sufficient to create, maintain, and send reports.
• Appearance shall be appropriate for religious worship services and other activities
• Experience in military chapel programs is preferred

Education/Certification:

• The Candidate must be a fully ordained Roman Catholic Priest listed in the Official Catholic Directory (published by P.J. Kennedy & Sons) and be in good standing with the Roman Catholic Church at large.
• A 4-year degree from an accredited college or university and either a Master of Divinity or the Master of Arts degree from a theological seminary.
• The Candidate shall possess a good command of the English language.
