Position Summary
Seeking professional, courteous, and customer-focused Patient Assisted Parking Attendants to support Veterans receiving care at the VA Fargo Health Care System. Attendants will greet patients, safely park and retrieve vehicles, assist with basic mobility needs, and provide outstanding customer service while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient parking operation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet Veterans and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Receive vehicle keys and issue parking claim tickets.
- Safely drive, park, and retrieve customer vehicles.
- Maintain accurate key control and vehicle location records.
- Return vehicles promptly while maintaining a maximum 10-minute customer wait time.
- Assist Veterans with entering and exiting vehicles when requested.
- Retrieve and return wheelchairs from the facility entrance when needed.
- Help Veterans retrieve personal mobility devices from their vehicles.
- Direct visitors, employees, volunteers, and vendors to the appropriate self-parking areas.
- Monitor the parking operation and maximize available parking spaces.
- Maintain a clean and organized valet station and entrance area.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and VA Police using radios or other communication devices.
- Report accidents, vehicle damage, safety hazards, or incidents immediately.
- Secure all vehicle keys using approved key control procedures.
- Turn over remaining vehicle keys to VA Police after operating hours when required.
- Follow all VA safety, security, and customer service policies.
- Wear the company-issued uniform and identification badge during all work hours.
- Perform other related duties necessary to support Patient Assisted Parking operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid U.S. Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Ability to safely operate automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Ability to successfully complete the required VA background investigation (Low Risk NACI).
