Job Summary: The Science Coordinator for Structured Decision Making (SDM) at Klamath Basin Area Office (KBAO) will lead the SDM process, supporting the 2024 Biological Assessment and upcoming Biological Opinion. This role includes curating data, improving SDM products, and ensuring transparent stakeholder participation while training KBAO’s Science Advisor and collaborating with leadership and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
Facilitation of SDM Working Group Meetings:

Coordinate and facilitate both large (50-150 participants) and small (10-30 participants) SDM working group meetings, including online options.
Create agendas, meeting minutes, and written materials summarizing key SDM components.
Organize and reserve meeting spaces at various non-federal facilities across locations such as Klamath Falls, OR, Ashland, OR, Yreka, CA, and more.
Ensure the availability of online/virtual attendance options for all meetings using platforms like Microsoft Teams.

Development and Management of Decision Support Models (DSM):

Collaborate with Reclamation and the management team to set annual goals and objectives for SDM processes.
Assist in the development, curation, and implementation of DSMs, including habitat restoration priorities and responses to independent panel reviews.
Develop and maintain a Data Management policy and manage proposals for DSM changes and policy guidance.

Establishment of Technical Guidelines:

Develop and communicate standardized monitoring guidelines and technical guidance for the SDM working group.
Establish lists of fundamental objectives and means objectives to evaluate the effectiveness of recommendations and Biological Opinion actions.

Accountability and Reporting:

Prepare and publish an Annual Management Update (AMU) summarizing the progress and challenges encountered by the SDM working group.
Regularly update the management team on the status of SDM processes through monthly reviews and technical guidelines document.
