We are seeking an experienced and skilled Fitness Equipment Repair Technician to join our team and perform repair services for cardio, selectorized, and free weight equipment at the Chace Fitness Center and Lodging located in Lajes Field, Azores. Your expertise will play a critical role in maintaining a high-quality fitness environment for our clients.
Job Summary: As a Fitness Equipment Repair Technician, you will be responsible for conducting repairs, maintenance, and inspections of various fitness equipment located at the Chace Fitness Center and Lodging. Your technical skills will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of cardio, selectorized, and free weight equipment, ensuring that patrons have access to top-notch facilities for their fitness needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform on-site repair and maintenance of cardio, selectorized, and free weight equipment at the Chace Fitness Center and Lodging.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions, troubleshoot issues, and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
- Repair or replace defective components, parts, or systems to restore equipment functionality.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential equipment issues and address them proactively.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and replacement parts.
- Coordinate with fitness center management to schedule repair appointments and minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards during repairs and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source replacement parts and ensure timely repairs.
- Keep abreast of equipment manuals, technical specifications, and industry best practices.
- Provide excellent customer service to fitness center patrons by addressing inquiries and concerns related to equipment functionality.
- Assist in the assembly and installation of new fitness equipment as needed.
- Provide periodic reports on equipment maintenance and repair activities to management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in a related field preferred).
- Proven experience in repairing and maintaining fitness equipment, including cardio, selectorized, and free weight equipment.
- Familiarity with a wide range of fitness equipment brands and models.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to identify and address equipment malfunctions.
- Ability to work independently, manage a repair schedule, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with fitness center management and patrons.
- Physical fitness and manual dexterity to perform equipment repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of safety practices and regulations related to fitness equipment repairs.
- Prior experience in contract-based repair services is a plus.
