Certified Religious Education Coordinator
Position Summary
The CCD Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the Catholic religious education program for children at Fort Detrick Chapel. The role ensures that all students are properly prepared for the reception of the Sacraments of Penance, Eucharist, and Confirmation, in alignment with Roman Catholic Church standards and U.S. Army contractual requirements.
Qualifications
Certified by the Roman Catholic Church to coordinate and teach CCD.
Master’s degree in Theology, Religious Education, or related field (preferred).
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in parish religious education, youth ministry, or Catholic school teaching.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills with demonstrated success in managing volunteers.
Key Responsibilities
Program Oversight – Develop and maintain CCD curriculum, schedule, and materials; provide instruction as needed.
Volunteer Management – Recruit, train, and supervise CCD volunteers; ensure all pass background checks.
Student Preparation – Track student progress, maintain records, and coordinate sacrament preparation and testing.
Facility Coordination – Secure classrooms and resources; submit supply requests.
