We are seeking an experienced IPC Soldering Certification Trainer to join our team and provide comprehensive training to the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) command. Your expertise will play a vital role in maintaining a certified and highly skilled technical workforce capable of manufacturing electronic hardware to IPC specifications.
Job Summary: As an IPC Soldering Certification Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits (IPC) Soldering Certification training to the NAWCWD command at China Lake and Point Mugu, California. Your training efforts will directly contribute to the Technical Engineering/Engineering workforce's ability to manufacture electronic hardware to IPC specifications, ensuring a certified and proficient team that avoids any work stoppages due to non-certified employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver IPC Soldering Certification training courses to the Human Capital Development Department, Code DA40000, at NAWCWD.
- Customize training materials to align with IPC specifications and the unique needs of the technical engineering/engineering workforce.
- Conduct hands-on training sessions covering soldering techniques, industry standards, quality control, and safety protocols.
- Utilize effective instructional methods to engage participants and facilitate their understanding of complex soldering processes.
- Assess trainees' performance and provide constructive feedback to support their skill development and certification readiness.
- Collaborate with NAWCWD's Human Capital Development Department to coordinate training schedules, venues, and participant communications.
- Stay up-to-date with IPC standards and industry advancements to ensure training content remains relevant and accurate.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities, participant attendance, and assessment results.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance training methodologies and program outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of training materials, manuals, and resources to support IPC Soldering Certification training.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Electronics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- IPC certification as a Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) or equivalent.
- Proven experience delivering IPC Soldering Certification training or similar technical training programs.
- Strong knowledge of IPC standards related to soldering, electronics assembly, and quality control.
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse learners.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality in training delivery.
- Experience working with engineering and technical teams in a government or defense context is a plus.
