Job Title: Pool Technician
Location: Fort Wainwright, AK
Duties:
- Shall perform pool operator maintenance services outside pool operating hours so as not to interfere with scheduled use of the facilities.
- The Candidate may be required to drain and fill pool to perform services.
- Shall develop and implement an IMP program for Pool Systems to ensure proper operation, to minimize breakdowns and to maximize useful life.
- Shall develop and implement an IMP program for facilities, systems, ground structures and other assets to ensure they are safe, fully functional, minimize breakdowns and to maximize useful life.
- Shall work in conjunction with MWR pool staff to establish a daily log and record chlorine, pH and alkalinity levels to ensure proper chemical levels are maintained.
- Shall maintain, monitor, record, and treat pool water.
- Shall accomplish bacteriological and chemical analyses to ensure water quality is at an acceptable level.
- Shall maintain and operate pool and equipment to ensure proper conditions and operations.
- Shall maintain swimming pool water quality.
- The Candidate may be required to drain and fill pool to perform services that create dangerous conditions for patrons or pool operators resulting in greater or continued damage to pool or equipment (to include, but unacceptably low or high chlorine/pH levels, fecal/biological contamination, broken pipe/valve/pump, electrical short, electrical panel/control malfunction, severe leak, breach of liner/shell), or an unannounced inspection by MEDDAC.
- Shall be legal U.S. residents.
Educations & Certifications:
- Certified or licensed in the appropriate Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) required.
- Shall be a certified pool operator by the National Swimming Pool Foundation.
Hazardous conveyance training and appropriate storage practices for pool chemical.
