Job Title: Contemporary Worship Musician

Location: Altus Air Force Base (AFB) Chapel, Bldg 301.

Duties:

Provide musical selections for the Contemporary Worship Service.
Provide directions to additional musicians who may play a variety of instruments to include, but not limited to, piano, organ, guitar (acoustic, electric, and bass), drums and woodwinds.
Coordinate weekly music rehearsals on an agreed upon date with the Praise and Worship Leader and Designated Chaplain.
Provide music in support of the Contemporary Praise and Worship Leader.
Conduct one (1) worship service per week.
Conduct one (1) rehearsal per weekday in support of the Contemporary Praise and Worship Leader.
Conduct Special Worship Service or rehearsal(s)

Education and Responsibilities:

Possess a minimum of three (3) years’ experience within the last five (5) as a Musician in a Contemporary-style worship service setting.
Have a working knowledge of the worship music used in multi-cultural Christian worship settings (preferably Protestant Christian) and an ability to learn various styles/new songs as they become prevalent.
Ability to read music, play by ear, and play a lead instrument (i.e., guitar, piano, and/or keyboard); must have knowledge of vocal harmony and able to provide accompaniment for praise team members and solo vocalists as needed.
