Job Title: Maid 

Location: Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Florida

Type of Job: Full-time Position 

Schedule: Continuous, 5 days a week; Surge to 6-7 days a week during quarantine operations and launch cycles. Schedule is variable and may include weekends, holidays, and varied times of the day as required.

Duties:

• Clean and maintain the Astronaut Crew Quarters (ACQ) facility at KSC, totaling 16,528 sq. ft.
• Perform standard household cleaning and disinfection tasks for 23 bedrooms with adjoining bathrooms, kitchen, common areas (computer room, hallways, conference rooms, gym, lounge), and dining room.
• Specific tasks include vacuuming, dusting, wiping down surfaces, cleaning bathrooms (including tile floors, walls, toilets, mirrors, and showers), laundering bed linens, towels, and throw rugs using onsite commercial washers and dryers, and collecting/disposing of garbage.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas including counters, sinks, appliances (refrigerator, stoves, microwave), and dishware.
• Dust and clean furnishings and electronics such as desks, tables, TVs, and gym equipment.
• Work quickly and thoroughly to ensure rooms are cleaned daily when in use and as needed when not in use.
• Follow all NASA-provided Health Stabilization Plan protocols, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) if required.
• Adhere to a dynamic and quickly changing work environment, supporting surge periods during quarantine operations and launch cycles.

Qualifications:

• Experience in housekeeping and sanitation in a commercial setting (e.g., nursing home, assisted living facility, hospital) for at least one year.
• Familiarity with general housekeeping tasks including laundry, bed making, bathroom cleaning, surface cleaning, dishwashing, vacuuming, and dusting.
• Must pass a full background check to attain NASA access badge.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as needed.
