Position Title: Material Handler Lead

Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Location: Bolling JBA Commissary, 185 Chappie James Boulevard, Washington, DC 20032
Reports To: Project Manager

Position Summary:

The Material Handler Lead supervises RSHA staff and ensures the accurate receiving, sorting, and staging of goods within the warehouse. This position is responsible for maintaining order, safety, and compliance within the RSHA, and serves as a liaison between material handlers and management.

Qualifications: The candidate shall have:

High school diploma or GED.
2+ years experience in warehousing, inventory, or commissary operations.
Prior team lead or supervisory experience preferred.
Ability to train and supervise warehouse personnel.
Familiarity with OSHA standards and RSHA operational protocols.
English fluency for documentation and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities: The candidate must:

Assign tasks to material handlers and monitor productivity.
Ensure timely and accurate verification of deliveries.
Organize product storage by type and temperature zone.
Lead shift safety briefings and enforce proper PPE use.
Maintain daily logs and delivery discrepancy reports.
Communicate with stocking and custodial leads to ensure seamless flow.
Train new employees on RSHA procedures and safety rules.
Coordinate RSHA cleaning and inventory rotation schedules.
