Job Title: Librarian
Location: Robert F. Kennedy (RFK) Justice Building Main Library, U.S. Department of Justice, Washington, D.C.
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in a law library or academic library with a strong focus on legal resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-level reference and research services.
  • Experience with library management systems, digital databases, and e-resource technology.


Duties:

  • Providing research and reference services to support the legal and investigative needs of DOJ staff.
  • Managing the acquisition, cataloging, and development of the library's collections.
  • Supervising library staff including Library Technicians and part-time assistants.
  • Developing and conducting training sessions on legal research and the use of library resources.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of the library catalog and digital resources.
  • Collaborating with other departmental libraries and external organizations to enhance service offerings.
  • Preparing statistical reports on library usage and service effectiveness.
