Position Title: Gate Attendant – Shift B (Pat Mayse West PUA)

Job Type: Seasonal Contract (April–September, Renewable)
Job Location: Pat Mayse Lake – West Public Site Area, Texas
Position Schedule: 4 days on / 4 days off (Alternating with Shift A), 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM

Requirements: The contractor shall:

  • Must provide and reside in a self-contained camper or trailer onsite.

  • Must pass a federal criminal background check.

  • Must be bonded for $5,000 to secure government funds.

  • Competency in basic computer operations (R1S system).

  • Independent transportation for banking, mailing, and park surveillance.

  • Ability to maintain professionalism while interacting with the public.

  • Must comply with all Corps of Engineers safety and conduct guidelines.

Duties: The Candidate must:

  • Open and close entrance gates during duty shifts.

  • Collect fees and manage reservations using the R1S system.

  • Conduct route loops through the park a minimum of two times per day.

  • Collect fees from the single honor vault and remit to R1S system.

  • Sell and process recreation passes and maintain accurate financial records.

  • Maintain the gatehouse and associated landscaped areas.

  • Coordinate with park staff to report violations, safety concerns, and visitor complaints.

  • Post and remove reservation tags at campsites and assist with onsite reservations.
