Schedule:

Part-time position supporting Protestant chapel music services at Vandenberg Space Force Base, Lompoc, CA. The Music Director will support weekly worship services, rehearsals, special/holiday services, and scheduled meetings. Exact times are coordinated with the Lead Protestant Chaplain.

Summary:

The Protestant Music Director will provide music leadership and accompaniment for Protestant Christian worship services at Vandenberg Space Force Base.

The position includes preparing worship music, leading worship, directing volunteer musicians or praise teams, and coordinating weekly music selections with the Chaplain.

Requirements:

• Must have at least 2 years of church music experience as a Music Director or primary musician.

• Must be proficient in piano/keyboard or guitar and able to read, transpose, and perform music.

• Must have experience with traditional hymns, contemporary worship, gospel, choral, and congregational music.

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and strong English communication skills.

Duties:

• Prepare and perform music for weekly Protestant worship services and special services.

• Lead rehearsals and direct volunteer musicians, choirs, or praise teams.

• Coordinate music selections with the Lead Protestant Chaplain.

• Provide accompaniment and musical leadership throughout worship services.

• Assist with chapel audio/visual equipment, presentation slides, and Government-furnished music materials.
