Musician

Location: Edwards Air Force Base, California
Position: Part-time

Duties:

• Accompany (play piano, organ, guitar, or keyboard) and direct musical selections during designated regular worship services, including accompanying the singing of hymns, choruses, spiritual songs, choral responses, anthems, and special music that enhances the atmosphere of worship for the congregation.
• Accompany regular choir rehearsals, playing the piano, organ, guitar, or keyboard, and/or direct accompaniment for choir/worship team rehearsals.
• Provide appropriate musical support during designated worship services, including congregational music, offertory, prelude, and postlude music.
• Coordinate and provide music for all services, adjusting tempo and style of choir selections to enhance the congregation's ability to participate in worship.

Requirements:

• At least two years of experience in worship services.
• A minimum of two written references regarding the work performed in the music area.
• Knowledge of liturgical and contemporary music norms of the Catholic/Protestant tradition.
• Ability to read and play music according to the religious services being rendered.
